Jesus loves us so much, that He gave up His exalted position in Heaven, and became human in order to teach us by His example. He also made the ultimate sacrifice and died for us, to save us from our sinful condition.
He extends an invitation to follow Him to every human being -- follow His example in everything. Especially in having a close relationship with God, obeying God’s Commandments and dedicating our lives to be instruments in God’s hands in saving souls for eternity.
Jesus did not give His commission to pastors and Bible workers only, but He charged every Christian to be an ambassador for Him! Jesus is waiting for His followers to do their portion of the work in sharing the good news with every one they come in contact with.
“…what manner of persons ought all of you to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God…?”
“Christ is waiting with longing desire for the manifestation of Himself in His church. When the character of the Savior shall be perfectly reproduced in His people, then He will come to claim His own. It is the privilege of every Christian, not only to look for, but to hasten, the coming of our Lord. Were all who profess His name bearing fruit to His glory, how quickly the whole world would be sown with the seed of the gospel! Quickly the last great harvest would be ripened and Christ would come.” Counsels to Parents, Teachers, and Students 324
Let us ask daily: “Lord, what will You have me to do?” And when He shows us what to do let us be eager, faithful and diligent in our efforts for the Lord!
Our loving God is asking: “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Let us all follow Isaiah’s example and declare: “Here am I; send me!”
